Our Mission
Our mission flows out of our spirituality of Incarnation – Easter – Pentecost. These events in the life of Christ led to the foundation of a new community, the Church. Jesus Christ lived in God and surrendered his life to God on the Cross as a sign of God’s great love for us. The mission of Christ was to establish the Reign of God here on earth (see Luke 4: 18-19). This is the mission of the Church, it is the mission of each individual Christian, it is our mission in the Opus Spiritus Sancti. Jesus lived his worldly life with the help of Holy Spirit beginning with the Annunciation, confirmed in his Baptism and Transfiguration and sealed by his surrender to the will of the Father by dying on the cross – all these paved the way for Resurrection (Phil 2:5-9). We too start our Christian pilgrimage with baptism where we receive the Holy Spirit.
The Opus Spiritus Sancti is a Latin title which means “Work of the Holy Spirit”. The Holy Spirit has been guiding all of humanity to evolve into the Kingdom of God.
Therefore, the mission of the members of the SIP and CAC is:
To work with the Holy Spirit for the renewal of the Church in the world, as all contribute their gifts and talents, according to their ability and in the context of their life circumstances, to help humanity evolve to that time when God will be all in all (1 Cor 15:28).
