Our financial contribution in the SIP and the CAC
Since we live in the world, we have to deal with worldly matters. Both the CAC and the SIP are dependent on the financial support of the members in order to fulfill their responsibilities as international, missionary communities. We look at the life of the first Christians as our model: they helpSed each other in faith as well as through material means.
The CAC and SIP members from the developed countries help their brothers and sisters in the developing countries by making a larger financial contribution. This is used for the needs of their own local and regional communities, and also for the needs of their International Leadership teams.
Both CAC and SIP members from Africa, India and the Philippines are asked to contribute at least the equivalent of $3 per year per member to meet these financial obligations. In some areas this amount may vary. The members of the CAC from Germany and the United States are invited to contribute much more, currently $100 per member. The members of the SIP make a voluntary contribution and are encouraged to be as generous as they can. Once again, we are encouraged by the words of the Acts of the Apostles which talk about the early community: "they shared everything in common and helped each other."
Of course, even if someone is not able to make a financial contribution in full or in part, they will not be excluded from the community. But we all have an obligation to contribute to the financial needs of the community according to our means. Some members cannot meet the expected amount, and therefore, those who have been blessed with greater financial resources are invited to voluntarily make a larger contribution.
